When you are clear about the qualifications and expectations for a position, it allows potential candidates to make an informed decision about whether the job is right for them. If you leave out pertinent information (like salary, work hours, or job tasks), it puts candidates in a position to drop out of the hiring process when they find out the job isn’t a good fit.

Simply letting the candidates know that applications have been received is a great first step, but candidates should also be informed when they are moving from one phase of the hiring process to the next, if there will be a delay in response due to hiring manager time off, or other relevant information.
